This highly original and theatrical Caribbean adaptation of the popular fairy tale “The Little Mermaid” sings and dances the story of Ti Moune, the black peasant girl who rescues, nurses and falls in love with Daniel, a mulatto from a wealthy family. When Daniel is returned to his people, the gods who rule the island guide Ti Moune on a quest to test the strength of her love against the powerful forces of prejudice, hatred and death.

PREPARATION: Be prepared to sing, dance, and act. Bring sheet music in your key. No tapes will be permitted, as an accompanist will be provided. Please bring a recent photo or one will be taken for you for the fee of $1.00.
REHEARSALS: Sunday through Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm, beginning January 4, 2009.  Please bring a list of conflicts to the audition.

EXPENSES: Participation Fee: $90 Sunnyvale resident / $100 non-resident / $70 siblings. Participation fee is payable at auditions; refunded if not cast. $10 script fee. Participant is responsible for providing his or her costumes as directed by the costumer. Costume expenses are not included in the participation fee.
