GODSPELL--the show you only *think* you know!
A company of singing and dancing hippie-esque clowns presents the story of Jesus in a humorous, rollicking, improvisational, and ultimately life-affirming style that worked in the 70s, right? Beloved by Christian groups and polarizing to almost everyone else, GODSPELL is a play that has always preached to the converted. Taking its inspiration from the Gospel of Matthew, GODSPELL uses the parables and teachings of Jesus to look at modern-day life. Our production, which will include "Day by Day" and other songs by Stephen Schwartz, the composer of WICKED, jettisons the hippies and takes a contemporary look at the issues and questions raised by the teachings of Jesus. Whether you are a believer or not, this show will get you thinking, even as you are clapping and humming along.

PREPARATION:	Be prepared to sing, dance, and read; dress to move as simple choreography will be taught. Bring sheet music in your key and prepare 16-24 bars to sing. No tapes will be permitted, as an accompanist will be provided. Please bring a recent photo or one will be taken for you for the fee of $1.00.
REHEARSALS:	Sunday evenings from 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm, Monday through Thursday evenings 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm, beginning September 12, 2010.
TECH WEEK:	October 24 - 28, 2010 No Conflicts!
PERFORMANCES:	October 29, 30, 31, 2010 November 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, 18, 19, 20, 21, 2010
EXPENSES:	Refundable script deposit and personal items such as makeup and undergarments
