Sunnyvale Community Players presents...
The show takes place during a live broadcast of W.O.V., a local 5,000 watt New York City radio station. It centers on 14 performers and their attempts to make it to the big time, as seen through the eyes of a 1940's radio station studio audience. The spirit of this bygone era when the world was at war and pop music meant "Boogie-Woogie Bugle Boy" is accurately captured as the harassed producer copes with a lead singer with a drinking problem, the delivery boy who wants a chance in front of the mic, the second banana who dreams of singing a ballad and the trumpet-playing sound effects man who chooses a fighter plane over Glenn Miller. The nostalgic trip down memory lane includes such songs as Blue Moon, I'll Be Seeing You, Black Magic, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Daddy, and Love Is Here To Stay.
