We're pleased to announce the casts for our next two shows:

A Little Princess

Little Shop of Horrors

We're very excited to bring these two shows to life!

Gary Stanford JrMeet Gary Stanford Jr., the Director for our upcoming Junior Production of A Little Princess!
We sat down with Gary and asked him a few questions to help introduce him to our SCP family.

Why Direct & Choreograph A Little Princess?

Why not? It’s a wonderful show full of culture from around the world. My passion is bringing world cultures to the stage as they are rarely displayed in American Musical Theater. There are so many full and rich characters in this show as well which will make for a very exciting show. The cast will find themselves challenged to be very versatile and take on many different roles in the show, very complicated for a director but lots of fun for the actors as they will have lots to do in the show. I also want to tightly integrate dancing and movement with the characters of the show which requires marrying the two aspects together during the scene work

Have you worked with SCP before?
Yes. I was the choreographer for Oliver (as well as played Bill Sykes in the show.) I was also the choreographer for Grand Hotel.

What does theater mean do you?
Theater means COMMUNITY to me. It means a safe haven for actors to create and push the limits as to what they think they can achieve. It also means FUN. Theater is one big playground, with our without toys, but always with the creative mind at work. In some instances is means EXPERIMENT to try out new ideas and concepts. Lastly, it means EDUCATION in terms of teaching actors new way to expand and grow their talents.

What should parents expect from this show?
Parents should expect to be very proud and very surprised what their kids accomplish in this show. It will ALL be a surprise but a very, very pleasant one. They should expect to invite ALL of their family, friends and even enemies to see the show and fill up our houses. They basically should expect to play a huge part in advertising the show and SELLING OUT THE SHOW! They should also expect to play a BIG part in putting together this show by volunteering on tasks requiring attention. That will play a bit part in the success of the show.
